Social Skills Groups
Our center-based Social Skills Groups (SSG) allow our clients to work on building social relationships with peers during fun activities at the center and in the community. SSG Coordinators plan specialized activities for small groups. These activities utilize specific tasks and programs to target increased independence while learning how to appropriately interact with others; whether by initiating play with peers, making a simple snack, cleaning up after oneself or having friendly conversations, engaging other's interests. With focuses like art therapy, adaptive exercise, reading, etc, our center is a great place to plan to meet up both on Saturdays and during the week!
Themed Weeks and Activities
Taking full advantage of our amazing center, each Saturday, clients engage in group activities such as games, arts and crafts, baking, and more to improve those vital social skills. Themed activities make every week feel like a brand‑new adventure. Clients might soar through superhero missions, explore underwater worlds, mix up holiday‑themed treats, join in creative art therapy, or participate in lively language‑building games.
Community Outings
It doesn't stop there! Our SSG Coordinators plan outings to extend learning beyond the center and give children opportunities to explore the world around them while practicing real‑life social and communication skills. Visits may include trips to local farms, blueberry picking, meeting police and fire teams, or exploring other exciting community spaces. These adventures help children make meaningful connections, experience new environments, and build confidence interacting with the world.
